Featured image above is John Franks the ICEMAN with his wife Cheryl sitting in front of his 100+ block ICE BAR display in the outdoor party tent at Chase on the Lake Hotel in Walker, MN. Every year in February he carves and assembles the ice bar, luges and other sculptures for the Eel Pout Festival on Leech Lake. It takes a full week to carve the 36,000 POUND display for the event.

Ice Carvings Etc Inc is owned and operated by John Franks. His introduction of ice sculptures came from his culinary background as an Executive Chef at private clubs, restaurants and hotels. He had sharpened his skills and started his ice carving business in 1983 and has developed his career as a sculptor providing thousands of carvings, punch bowls, luges and ice bars over the years for individual parties, weddings, graduations, anniversaries, winter festivals, holiday buffets for area hotels, restaurants and country clubs as well as corporate clients such as 3M, General Mills, Red Bull, Pepsi, IBM, Mayo Clinic, FREE2B, American Express, Capital One, the list goes on…
